Eureka: Deadman

If the style of Manga Entertainment's new bloody series Deadman Wonderland seems familiar to you, have a look in the section of your memory labelled 'mecha' - the same creators were responsible for the Eureka Seven manga. Though that series started as anime first, with the manga being an alternate take on the events therein, Deadman Wonderland allows the 'dynamic duo' (Jinsei Kataoka and Kazuma Kondou) the chance to exercise their own creative muscles from the very genesis of the project. Both titles were published in Kadokawa Shoten's monthly manga anthology Shonen Ace, with Kondou's distinctive linework and character designs the strongest link between the two - Ganta does look more than a bit like Eureka Seven's robot-piloting prodigy Renton, after all!
