JOJO'S STYLISH ADVENTURES

JoJo's creator Hirohiko Araki makes two of his personal passions unmissable in his manga. One is his love of western rock music - nearly every character is named after a group, singer or song title. The other is fashion. The voluminous cast of the series are all decked out in avant garde clothing and boundary-pushing accessories, with perfect hair to boot. In fact, it's safe to say that JoJo's basically involves a bunch of supermodels beating each other up. In January 2013, Araki's fashion-conscious sense of design led to a collaboration with Italian label Gucci. The partnership saw over 70 of Gucci's stores worldwide install window displays featuring Jolyne Cujoh, the female star of the sixth JoJo's arc, wearing some of that season's garb. For his part, Araki also produced a series of one-shot manga, published in Japanese women's fashion magazine Spur, where various characters from his main series encountered or were somehow inspired by Gucci. Truly bizarre!
