Tokyo Ghoul

Ken Kaneki thinks he might have found his dream girl when he meets Rise Kamishiro. She’s beautiful, stylish and shares his love for books – particularly horror novels. Their first date is an absolute dream for Ken, right up until the moment that Rise tries to eat him. Turns out she’s not human, but a ghoul – a monstrous creature that feasts on mortal flesh. Her violent assault leaves Ken critically wounded, but is brought to a dramatic end when a steel beam from a construction site crushes Rise. When Ken wakes up in hospital after lifesaving surgery, he realises something has changed. All normal food repels him, and a new, terrible hunger has taken hold. The surgeon who saved his life used Rise’s organs to replace Ken’s damaged ones. He’s now part-human, part-ghoul – and ravenous for flesh.

Add a shot of darkness and horror to your summer with Tokyo Ghoul, from Anime Limited, directed by Shuhei Morita, who previously helmed the wonderful sci-fi mini-series Freedom.
