New Iron Man anime coming in 2013

Marvel has announced that following their successful collaboration with the anime studio Madhouse, a new Iron Man animated film is in the works.

Iron Man: Rise of Technovore will be a feature length adventure and is due out in the spring of 2013.

Hiroshi Hamasaki will be directing from a story by Brandon Auman, who was a writer on Marvel's cartoon series The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!

The plot will involve Iron Man being framed for a terrorist attack by Ezekiel Stane and forced to clear his name while pursued by the forces of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Marvel is excited to present an all-new Iron Man adventure featuring the high-tech adrenaline he is known for, in the beautifully rendered anime style of our friends at Madhouse," said Associate Producer Megan Thomas Bradner.

"We'll get to see familiar Marvel super heroes such as War Machine, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye and the Punisher, rendered in anime style for the first time. It's a can't miss for any Marvel fan."

Marvel previously commissioned Madhouse to make four anime series starring their heroes. In addition to the Iron Man series, Madhouse produced Wolverine, X-men and Blade shows.

Not coincidentally, all the licensed properties have live action franchises.

No footage has been released yet from the new movie, but here is the trailer for the Iron Man series.
