101 Films Picks Up Two Titles From The Vaults

In the years since the closure of ADV Films, many of the titles in their catalogue have become harder and harder to get hold of.

Now a new distributor, 101 Films, has picked up the rights to two of the titles from the ADV back catalogue and will be releasing them in 2013.

Elfen Lied is the violent and often bloody tale of Lucy, who is a Diclonius, a genetically altered girl with telekinetic powers.

When she is shot breaking out of the facility where she was held captive, Lucy loses her memory and is found by Kouta and Yuka who take her in, unaware of the deadly threat the girl poses.

According to Amazon, the Complete Collection will be released on 28 January 2012.

The second title is Makoto Shinkai's The Place Promised In Our Early Days from 2004.

The story is set in a world where Japan was split into two countries after World War II.

The film is due out on 18 February 2013 according to Amazon.

You can follow 101 Films on their Twitter account.

The company has a website, but at present it just contains a holding page.

Great to see a new company bringing anime to UK fans and resurrecting these titles from the anime graveyard.
