Five New Anime Series Coming To Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll, the anime streaming site, has plenty of new titles lined up for 2013.

First out of the gate is Boku-no-imoutowa"Osaka-okan", which means 'My Little Sister Is An Osaka Momma'.

The show concerns a girl who moves in with her brother after years living apart, and proceeds to start running his life. The first episode is already online.

Mangirl begins airing on 2 January 2013.

While the title can easily be misconstrued, the series involves four girls who love manga trying to launch their own magazine. It is adapted from the manga by Kagari Tamaoka.

If you can read Japanese, take a look at the Mangirl website.

On the same day, Crunchyroll will start showing Encouragement of Climb, about two girls, Aoi and Hinata, who set out to climb a mountain.

The only problem is that Aoi is scared of heights. The show is directed by Yusuke Yamamoto who has worked on Sgt Frog and Ranma 1/2.

Ai-Mai-Mi! is set to debut on 3 January.

Like Hetalia, this show is adapted from a four-panel manga. The story revolves around four friends who are all in the school manga club, but they spend more time getting into strange situations than they ever spend drawing manga.

Last but not least, Love Live! School Idol Project will begin airing on 8 January 2013.

The plot is based around a group of schoolgirls who become pop idols in a bid to save their school from being closed. Several songs from the series have already been released in Japan.
