NEO Awards 2014 WINNER of Best Manga

Winning Best Manga with a landslide victory was Kodansha’s Attack on Titan – hardly surprising, as this original series was where the action began for the franchise. Author Hajime Isayama found his feet early on as a manga artist, winning the Fine Work award from the Magazine Grand Prix from Kodansha for Attack on Titan back in 2006. It wasn’t until 2009 that the manga was serialised in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and the rest is history! Attack on Titan is so popular that it’s now being made into a live action movie in Japan.

“On behalf of the publishers we are delighted that Attack on Titan has won the prestigious NEO Award for Best Manga in 2014. This series is proving to be a huge success right across the globe, and it is a real honour for us to be recognised in this way by NEO. Let’s hope it will help introduce a whole new legion of readers to this extraordinary tale!” Malcolm Green, MD, Kodansha Europe Ltd.
