Samurai Flamenco

By day, Masayoshi Hazama is a male model, the envy and idol of millions. By night, he’s Samurai Flamenco, Japan’s first real life superhero. There’s just one small problem – he doesn’t have the powers, arsenal, or fighting skills to actually do the job. When he befriends Hidenori Goto, a policeman who’s committed to the job but lacks a real drive for justice, the two men enter a strange partnership to protect their city, and deal with their own psychological baggage.

However, as Masayoshi’s endless optimism and small acts of heroism gain traction with the public, they actually start a movement, and soon there are whole teams of would-be heroes on the streets. But where there are superheroes, there are also supervillains....

Durarara!! director Takahiro Omori gleefully deconstructs the tokusatsu genre, delivering a fascinating character study that still packs in plenty of thrilling action. Anime Limited has Samurai Flamenco set for Blu-ray and DVD next spring.
