Ninja Scroll Coming To Blu-Ray For The First Time
Yoshiaki Kawajiri's Ninja Scroll has earned its place in the pantheon of classic anime with blood pumping action scenes and outrageous violence.
Originally released back in 1993, the movie now gets the high-definition treatment in a new edition from Manga Entertainment.
Coming out on 26 November, Ninja Scroll will be available on DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray. For the collectors amongst you, there will be a special limited Steelbook edition featuring an exclusive 20-page booklet and with the movie on both formats.
The story involves a wandering swordsman called Jubei who comes to the rescue of a female ninja called Kagero when she is attacked by a man called Tessai who can turn his own skin into stone.
It turns out Tessai is one of the Eight Devils of Kimon and by taking him on, Jubei is brought into direct conflict with the Eight Demons, each one possessing terrifying supernatural powers.
Just to give you a taste, below you'll find a trailer for an old release of the film. To give you an idea of what to expect from the new version, just imagine it all much crisper, sharper and high-definition-y.
Yes, high-definition-y is totally a real word. So there.
