Berserk The Golden Age Arc III: Descent Trailer

The first part of Studio 4°C's new movie trilogy adapted from Kentarou Miura's Berserk was released here in the UK on 24 December 2012.

It's a blood soaked epic of war, ambition and betrayal and the second installment, The Battle For Doldrey, has made a handful of appearances at anime and film festivals in the UK while fans wait for a DVD/Blu-ray release date from distributor Kaze.

Meanwhile the third movie, Descent is due to open in Japanese cinemas on 1 February 2013 and several promo videos have been released, including the trailer below.

The first ten minutes of footage have appeared online, which you can see on Youtube.

There are no English subtitles and plenty of violence, so it may not be suitable for younger viewers.

According to Twitchfilm.com, the film will be released in Japan in an uncut version that will only be screened late at night, while an edited, less extreme version will screen during the day.

Anyone familiar with the manga will know just how gory and gruesome Berserk can be. Will the UK releases make it past the BBFC uncut?

There is an official website for the movie trilogy, but it is only in Japanese.
