New Trailer for Mamoru Hosoda's The Wolf Children
A second trailer has been released for Mamoru Hosoda's upcoming anime feature The Wolf Children Ame And Yuki, aka Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki.
Hosoda has dazzled anime fans and critics alike with his previous films The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars.
His latest movie is about Hana, a college student who falls in love with a young man who turns out to be a werewolf. They have two kids, Ame and Yuki, but when Hana loses her husband, she leaves their home in the city to try to raise her two lupine kids in the countryside by herself.
Young Ace magazine is going to run a manga adaptation of the story employing the character designs from the movie by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Young Ace previously published an adaptation of Summer Wars drawn by Iqura Sugimoto.
Aoi Miyazaki will provide the voice of Hana, while Takao Osawa plays the werewolf.
The Wolf Children Ame And Yuki opens in Japanese cinemas on 21 July. Fingers crossed it will get picked up for the UK in short order and don't be surprised if it pops up at film festivals before long. If your Japanese is up to scratch, you can check out the official website.
