Warriors Of The Steppe - Myn Bala

In 1729, the Dzungars, a ferocious Mongol tribe descended from Genghis Khan, sweep across the steppes of Kazakhstan. Abandoned by the sultans who should have protected the people, Sartai (Assylkhan Tolepov) assembles an army of teenage warriors called Myn Bala - a thousand boys in Kazakh - and leads them against the Dzungar hordes. Akan Satayev's action-packed film, Warriors Of The Steppe - Myn Bala, was produced to mark the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's secession from the Soviet Union, and is the country's official entry for the Oscars. Check it out from 101 Films.
