The Four

In Imperial China, someone has stolen the Royal Plates used to make coins and is flooding the market with counterfeit money. Law enforcement agency Department Six - led by Lord Bu - is on the case, but they run up against the Divine Constabulary, a group of martial artists with fantastic abilities who report directly to the Emperor. As the Divine Constabulary conducts their own investigation, Lord Bu orders Leng Lingqi (Deng Chao) to infiltrate their ranks to find out where their loyalties lie and what they know about the counterfeit conspiracy.

The Four is a big budget, special effects laden martial arts adventure directed by Gordon Chan and Janet Chun. The cast includes Anthony Wong, Collin Chou, Ronald Cheng and Liu Yifei as the members of the Divine Constabulary. The movie has been described as a Wu Xia Pian version of X-Men, not least because Liu Yifei's character, called Emotionless, is a telepath in a wheelchair. Look out for The Four on DVD from Universal Home Entertainment.
