A Touch Of Sin

Director Jia Zhangke is best known for blending documentary and fiction in his meditations on the changing face of modern China in movies such as 24 City and Still Life, but he embraces the crime thriller with a vengeance in A Touch Of Sin. The film is built from four stories, each one touching on a real life incident that ended in violence. The bloodshed and brutal condemnation of the state of modern China has meant that the film has yet to be released there, but that didn't stop it from winning Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie will be released this year from Arrow Films.
