Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends

All good things must come to an end, as some fatalistic grouch somewhere said once. Keishi Otomo wraps up the big budget Rurouni Kenshin trilogy with a bang as Takeru Sato unsheathes the blunt sword of reformed assassin Kenshin Himura in The Legend Ends.

The movie topped the Japanese box office for four weeks straight last year and builds towards the final confrontation between Kenshin and Shisho (Tatsuya Fujiwara), another deadly swordsman who killed for his country but who now seeks vengeance on those who betrayed him after they deemed his usefulness to be over. In search of a way to defeat Shisho, Kenshin turns to his old master Seijuro Hiko (Masaharu Fukuyama), but how can he win when he has sworn to never take another life? The Legends Ends opened in cinemas on 6 March from Warner Brothers. If you want to catch up on the second film, Kyoto Inferno will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 6 April.
