Major Retrospective on Im Kwon-taek at BFI and ICA

The Korean Cultural Centre UK is teaming up with the BFI and the ICA for a major retrospective of the films of Im Kwon-taek running from 19 October until 3 November 2012.

Im is one of Korea's most respected filmmakers. He was the first Korean director to win the Best Director prize at Cannes for Drunk On Women And Poetry, which stars Choi Min-sik, he received the Golden Bear award from the Berlin Film Festival and is a member of the French Legion Of Honour for his contribution to cinema.

This is a rare chance to explore his works on the big screen.

The BFI will be screening eight films from Im's career and the director himself will be coming over for the occasion:
