KCCUK Announces The Year Of 4 Actors

After the superb series The Year Of 12 Directors in 2012, the Korean Cultural Centre UK launches a new film programme for 2013 with The Year of 4 Actors.

This year, the KCCUK will hold two screenings every month, showing six films for each of the actors in the spotlight.

Each season will culminate with a special Q+A Screening where K-Cinema fans will be able to meet the actor and discuss their work.

The Year of 4 Actors begins with the award winning Moon So-ri in Lim Chan-sang's comedy-drama The President's Barber.

Lim's movie, originally released in 2004, is set during Korea's rapid modernisation of the 1960s and 70s.

Barber Song Han-mo (Song Kang-ho) lives close to the Presidential complex with his wife (Moon So-ri) and their son.

Their business booms when a new law is passed that requires that all school students to have their hair cut short.

A curious turn of events leads to Song becoming the President's official barber but Song quickly discovers that life at the top is not as simple as a short back and sides.

The screening is free to attend but you must reserve a seat in advance, which you can do on the KCCUK website.

When: 7PM, Thursday 17 January 2013
Venue: Korean Cultural Centre UK, Grand Buildings, 1 - 3 Strand, London WC2N 5BW
