Penguins In The Sky At The Embassy Of Japan

The monthly free film nights at the Embassy Of Japan in London continues this February with a screening of Penguins in the Sky - Asahiyama Zoo.

The script was based on a novel by Masao Kosuge that in turn was inspired by the true story of Asahiyama Zoo.

Located in the north of Japan in Hokkaido, where the winters are bitterly cold, Asahiyama Zoo is struggling to attract visitors and faces closure.

Yoshida (Yasuhi Nakamura) is a new keeper at the zoo. Bullied as a child, he feels more comfortable around animals than people.

Determined to save the zoo, Yoshida promises that he can attract new visitors - by making the penguins at the zoo fly.

When: Wednesday 27 February 2013
Doors open at 6PM, the film starts as 6.30PM

Venue: The Embassy of Japan in the UK, 101 - 104 Piccadilly, London W1J 7JT

If you would like to attend you must reserve a place in advance, which you can do on the Embassy's website.
