Wolf Children Wins At Japan Academy Awards

The 36th Japan Academy Awards took place on Friday 8 March 2013 in Tokyo.

The biggest winner of the night was The Kirishima Thing which won Best Film, Best Director for Daihachi Yoshida and Best Editing for Mototaka Kusakabe. Check out the trailer down below (although sadly it has no subtitles).

Mamoru Hosoda's Wolf Children won the Best Animation prize, adding to the film's ever-growing tally of awards. Read more about Wolf Children here.

Best Actor went to Hiroshi Abe for the time-travelling comedy Thermae Romae - check out the trailer here - while Best Actress was awarded to Kirin Kiki for the drama Chronicle Of My Mother.

The Best Screenplay award was given to Kenji Uchida for Key Of Life while the Best Foreign Film prize went to The Intouchables by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano.
