The Raid 2

Welsh-born director Gareth Evans and Indonesian action star Iko Uwais took the movie world by storm with the stripped down, brutal style of The Raid back in 2011. Now they return for more bone-crunching mayhem with the sequel to their breakout hit.

Tougher than old boots cop Rama (Uwais) is assigned to infiltrate a crime syndicate, which he does by going to prison and befriending Ucok (Arifin Putra), the incarcerated son of the kingpin Bangun (Tio Pakusodewo). While in jail, he fights lots of people. Then, after Rama and Ucok leave prison, Rama is pulled into the turf war being waged by rival gangs and fights even more people.

The Raid 2 has proved somewhat divisive amongst critics. While some have hailed the film's outrageous stunts and action scenes, others have found the relentless and very graphic violence makes for an exhausting experience. Decide for yourself when the movie comes to DVD and Blu-ray later in the year from Entertainment One.
