Killers

Executive produced by The Raid’s Gareth Evans, Killers is the tale of two twisted minds leaving a trail of blood in their wake. Directed by Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto as The Mo Brothers (they’re not actually related, but both have ‘Mo’ in their names), the film stars Kazuki Kitamura as Nomura, a Japanese businessman who murders people and posts videos of his crimes online in a members-only website for depraved voyeurs. Bayu (Oka Antara) is an unsuccessful journalist in Jakarta who is determined to take down underworld kingpin Dharma (Ray Sahetapy). When Bayu attacks one of Dharma’s underlings and posts a video of the assault on the web, Nomura believes he has found a kindred spirit, but soon the two men are engaged in a gruesome contest of murderous one-upmanship to see whose videos can attract the most attention.

Much like The Raid films, Killers is a brutal viewing experience with Variety calling it ‘utterly depraved’. It arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on 1 September from Lionsgate. Brace yourselves.
