Through The Third Window

Third Window Films has acquired The World Of Kanako, the new film from Tetsuya Nakashima, director of Confessions and Kamikaze Girls. The story involves a morally bankrupt cop called Fujishima (Koji Yakusho) searching for his missing teenage daughter. The movie will be screened at the London Film Festival but a wider release from Third Window is dependent on the distributor securing a cinema platform.

Lee Su-jin’s award-winning drama Han Gong-ju is in a similar situation, as Third Window is seeking a cinema exhibitor to take the film before they can consider a DVD / Blu-ray date.

Greatful Dead, from Eiji Uchida, is the story of lonely young woman Nami (Kumi Takiuchi) who becomes obsessed with an old man that she watches from afar, but her fixation takes a nasty turn when someone else comes into the old man’s life. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in January 2015. Finally Yosuke Fujita’s comedy Fuku-chan Of FukuFuku Flats will premiere at the Raindance Festival, followed by a home release next April.
