4th Taiwan Cinefest Coming To London This Month
Taiwan Cinefest brings films from the island nation to the world, with a touring programme that covers Paris, Los Angeles, New York and London.
The Cinefest comes to the capital on 24 to 26 May so if you are coming down to the MCM Expo that weekend, you can see some movies while you're here.
The opening film on Thursday 24 May at the Apollo Cinema, Picadilly Circus, is Joe Lee's The Spin Kid about a young DJ who gets dragged into a drug deal gone wrong and winds up in trouble with the law and those who live outside the law. The cast is led by Nikki Hsieh and Blue Lan and the trailer is below. Joe Lee will be attending the screening and conducting a Q&A session afterwards.
The closing night movie is the UK premiere of Mayday 3DNA, a mix of documentary and fiction starring the Taiwanese rock band Mayday.
