First Look At The Host 2

The first footage has emerged from Park Myeong-chan's The Host 2 and it has all the giant monster mayhem you could wish for.

The Host was a big hit for Bong Joon-ho back in 2006 about a hideous creature that erupts from the Han River in Seoul and causes panic and chaos, not least for the family of a young girl that the monster carries off into the dark waters of the river.

Park Myeong-chan has taken over the helm for the sequel, coming from a background in directing commercials.

The Host 2 is apparently going to be released in South Korea in 3D.

The first film employed the US special effects house The Orphanage to bring the monster to life.

This time the creature is the responsibility of a Korean special effects studio, Macrograph, who also worked on Stephen Chow's upcoming Journey To The West, the combat pilot action film Black Eagle starring Rain, and the Jet Li/Jackie Chan team-up Forbidden Kingdom

The clip features test footage of the monster in action, followed by Before and After clips showing the CG at work.

There is no release date yet for the film, but hopefully it will get picked up for the UK.
