Hideo Nakata Returns To J-Horror With The Complex

Hideo Nakata was one of the biggest names in Japanese horror in the late 90s thanks to the success of Ring and it's sequels and remakes, and the chilling Dark Water.

Now the director returns to the genre that made him famous with The Complex.

Asuka (Atsuko Maeda) is a student nurse who moves into a fairly rundown apartment building with her family.

The new neighbours don't seem too friendly - when Asuka tries to say hello they refuse to answer.

She is disturbed at night by scratching noises coming through the wall in her bedroom.

When she goes to check it out during the day, she finds an old man lying dead on the floor next to the wall that adjoins Asuka's room.

From the position of his body, it looks as though he died trying to claw his way into her room.

Asuka alerts the authorities and the police take the body away but the next night the scratching noise returns...

The film opens in Japan on 18 May 2013 and if you can read Japanese, why not check out the official movie website
