Legendary Amazons Ready To Ride To Battle

Sisters are doing it for themselves in Frankie Chan's Legendary Amazons.

Frankie Chan returns to the director's chair after an extended hiatus to take charge of this historical adventure. The movie is a remake of Cheng Gang's 1972 film The 14 Amazons which was a hit for the Shaw Brothers studio.

Cecila Cheung leads the cast as Mu Guiying, a female general in the army of the Northern Song Dynasty. After his husband is reported as killed in action, Mu teams up with her fellow female warriors to take the fight back to their enemies in the Western Xia army.

Joining Cheung on the battlefields are Richie Ren, Cheng Pei-Pei, Liu Xiaoqing and Yu Xiao Ming, plus watch out for 90s fan favorite Yukari Oshima.

The film comes to DVD and Blu-ray on 14 May from Cine Asia and the official UK trailer is below.
