Hideako Anno and Studio Ghibli Unleash Giant God Warrior

A teaser has been released for Kyoshinhei Tokyo ni Arawaru, a short film created by Hideako Anno, director of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Studio Ghibli.

According to Anime News Network, the title translates to Giant God Warrior Appears In Tokyo, which is descriptive if a tad literal.

The movie is going to be shown at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo as part of an exhibition called Curator Hideaki Anno's Special Effects Museum, a celebration of the art of using miniatures for special effects in movies.

The special effects in the short film were all created using miniatures, with no CCG.

Presumably there will be a section devoted to pioneer Eiji Tsuburaya, the man who brought Godzilla and Ultraman to life.

The exhibition will run from until 8 October, if you happen to be in Tokyo.

Should Studio Ghibli and director Anno be doing more live action work? What do you think?
