Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung Kar-Fai Clash In Cold War Trailer

A new trailer has just been released for the Hong Kong police thriller Cold War.

The film stars Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Kar-Fai, Andy Lau, Eddie Peng and Aarif Rahman, recently seen over here in Young Bruce Lee.

Apparently Andy Lau was originally offered one of the lead roles but didn't have time, so accepted a supporting role instead. Possibly he was busy making Switch.

First-timers Luk Kim-Ching and Leung Lok-Man are co-directing the movie which centres around two deputy police commissioners, played by Kwok and Leung, battling for control over a high stakes hostage situation.

When a police van loaded with high tech equipment and weapons disappears, including the five officers inside, it seems the authorities are up against people who understand law enforcement operating procedures and tactics.

Two ambitious deputy commissioners both want to take charge of the operation to find and rescue the missing officers, but will their personal conflict cost the captured men their lives?

Chin Kar-Lok is action director on the movie which opens in Hong Kong in October.

A video featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast is up on Youtube and the new trailer is below.

It looks like Hong Kong cinema is having one of its best years in some time.
