Diva Syndrome

She’s the world’s biggest virtual pop star, and now Hatsune Miku has a new game coming to spread some holiday cheer. Sega has announced that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd will be out for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita in late November. The rhythm game features 20 classic songs previously only available in the Japanese PSP editions, plus 20 brand new tracks. The title boasts a huge array of customisation options with more than 100 costumes and 150 accessories for Hatsune and her friends Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito, and Meiko. Hatsune’s global legion of fans have already created more than 100,000 user generated songs and the edit mode in Project DIVA F 2nd allows players to build their own rhythm games and make videos to share on PlayStation Network.

Long time fans will be pleased to know that all downloadable content from the first Project DIVA F game is transferrable, and there is cross save compatibility between the PlayStation 3 and Vita. On the PS3, the Live Studio Mode lets you watch Hatsune perform a concert modelled on her Magical Mirai 2013 appearance in Yokohama, Japan. The AR Mode –Augmented Reality – on the Vita allows you to place characters from the game into the real world using the PS Vita camera. Cue an avalanche of selfies!

To further sweeten the pot, Sega has confirmed that players in the west will have access to the full range of Downloadable Content available in Japan, which rolls out beginning on 10 December. These include two bundles – the Song Club, which includes every rhythm game song to be released in the coming months, and the Costume Club, which expands Hatsune’s wardrobe selection with 45 new options. Somebody’s fabulous!
