Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies

The latest game in Capcom's excellent legal investigation series sees you taking on the role of Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes, three larger than life defence attorneys with a thirst for the truth. Over the course of five lengthy cases, your task is to prove your clients' innocence of the grisly murder in which they have found themselves entangled.

Dual Destinies' writing - as always for the series - is excellent, with a good amount of humour littering the script from start to finish. A good job, really, as it's not an exaggeration to say that over 90% of the gametime is spent clicking through conversations that your character is having with witnesses and colleagues. In fact, with the number of crime scene investigations reduced when compared to previous titles, we were sometimes yearning for a tad more control over proceedings.

Visually, Dual Destinies is among the best-looking games we've seen on the 3DS, and Capcom have done a wonderful job of capturing the 2D look of the previous games using 3D models.

Although we would never recommend Dual Destinies to those of you who are only into action games, for players who don't mind taking it slow, it would be criminal to miss it.

For visual novel fans, getting Dual Destinies is a no-brainer; others should give the demo a trial first.
