Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst

Rather than a straight-up sequel to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, Full Burst is an enhanced edition that takes everything from the standard version and bolsters it with a load of new features. First and foremost is the new chapter in Ultimate Adventure mode that sees Sasuke and Itachi joining forces to lay a brotherly smack-down on Kabuto. Only with his defeat can they hope to turn the tide in the Fourth Great Ninja War. The game also features a new Challenge mode that contains 100 increasingly difficult missions, and with Kabuto now being playable in Sage mode, the total character count has risen from 83 to 84.

Other changes include some enhanced cinematics and 38 alternate costumes that were originally made available as DLC. But apart from that, this is the excellent Naruto fighting game that fans already know and love. You can still call your assist characters during a fight and you can still enter Awakening Mode to get an edge over your opponent. If you already own Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 then you may want to hold off until the inevitable Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, but if you're Naruto-curious when it comes to fighting game or just haven't pulled off a Rasengan since Generations, then this is one game that you should definitely consider.

It's not a burst of fresh air, but as far as stopgaps go, this one is more generous than most.
SCORE: 4/5
