Kirby Triple Deluxe

Kirby Triple Deluxe is a charming, if incredibly easy platformer, in which Kirby must inhale enemies and steal their abilities, making him yet again one of the most overpowered heroes in gaming.

Normally, we’d mark a game like this down for its lack of challenge, but quite honestly, we were having such a blast as we charged through its beautiful 2.5D levels, we barely even noticed. Kirby’s copious copy abilities, including the brand new Beetle, Bell and Circus powers, each offer up a massive arsenal of attacks to experiment with, whilst the over-the-top Hypernova transformation, which boosts Kirby’s inhalation to screen-shaking proportions, provides several spectacular set pieces.

Throw in one of the best uses of stereoscopic 3D we’ve experienced on 3DS, having Kirby and his enemies regularly switch and attack between planes, and you get one of the most enjoyable handheld releases so far this year – perfect for the young at heart.

What it lacks in challenge it makes up in charm – 2D platforming fans should certainly consider giving this a try.
