Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour trailer by Mamoru Oshii
Capcom has released a very short live action trailer to tie in with the upcoming release of Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour on the Xbox 360.
The trailer is directed by none other than Mamoru Oshii but it is so short it is hard to get much sense of his style.
Set in 2082, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour depicts a world devoid of computers, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance.
In this low-tech era there is one weapon class that will determine the course of the war – the Vertical Tank. Players take on the role of VT pilot Sgt. Powers as the battle to regain the United States from Chinese occupation begins.
The game is due out in Europe on 22 June and will be the first in the Steel Battalion series to use the Kinect sensor instead of the massive custom controller of earlier versions.
A demo for the game was released on Xbox Live yesterday. You can check out a gameplay demo by clicking here.
