MIYAVI SLAP THE WORLD TOUR

2014 seems to be turning out to be one of the biggest years yet for the guitar samurai as far as international press goes. First, the news of the European release of his all-new, self-titled album next February, then an appearance in Angelina Jolie's 2014 war drama Unbroken, slated for release late 2014, and now the announcement of his upcoming 'SLAP THE WORLD TOUR 2014', which will take MIYAVI across Asia and into Europe early next year.

The first leg of the tour will kick off in Malaysia on 22 February, followed by shows in Taiwan and China. Then, onto Europe, with a further ten shows across the continent, wrapping up the second part of the tour in Cologne, Germany on 23 March - only to go onto perform a slew of shows across Japan until 15 June. Now that's what we call an intense work schedule! Of course, this story wouldn't be worth mentioning if there wasn't a UK show somewhere in the mix.

Last year a handful of fans got to witness an acoustic performance from the outside of fashion outlet Browns' flagship London store during a private performance, followed by a brief handshake and autograph session, but it was in 2011 when MIYAVI-ites last got a true taste of his extraordinary talent, as he took the HMV Forum by storm as part of the 'What's My Name?' world tour. Now on 15 March, fans will yet again get the chance to bear witness to one of the most spectacular solo performances Japan has to offer, with the man himself taking to the stage at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire for a night of non-stop guitar slapping rock 'n' roll! Not a bad way to start the year.
