ONE PIECE MUSIC SYMPHONY

“Writing the music for One Piece wasn’t so difficult, not when you’re a big fan of the series already, like myself,” states Kohei Tanaka, breaking from his usual stern expression to give a large smile. The composer, whose credits in anime range from essential titles such as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Sakura Wars and Gunbuster, is also the man responsible for shaping the sound of One Piece, including its hit opening theme We Are!.

“Actually, wherever I go – Japan or abroad – if fans spot me, they sing We Are! ha ha. I’m especially surprised when foreign fans sing it back to me in Japanese.”

That’s one of the reasons behind Tanak’s big smile a moment ago. He’s already bracing himself for the musical onslaught that’s set to come his way from British One Piece fans next year. The reason: Kohei Tanaka is about to embark on a first for anime in the UK… he’s going to bring the world of One Piece to London for an exclusive evening of special Luffy-themed entertainment.

Entitled ONE PIECE Music Symphony, the two-hour event is tipped to be a spectacular multimedia video and music show. It will feature a full orchestra playing the very finest, and best loved selections from One Piece’s series and movies, along with footage from the franchise projected on the big screen.

Tickets for the One Piece Music Symphony at Cadogan Hall on 7 February are on sale now from www.cadoganhall.com – tickets are priced at £25, £35 and £55, with VIP tickets set at £75, which include the best seats in the house, as well as a meet and greet session and photo with Kohei Tanaka, who’s deeply excited to see you all.

“I’m looking forward to meeting fans of One Piece! Please enjoy the show, let’s be happy listening to One Piece songs together.”
