X JAPAN MARK 20 YEAR RETURN

Where were you 20 years ago? X Japan were celebrating the release of their latest album Dahlia. Little did they (or the rest of the world) know that this would be the last album from Japan’s most successful rock group. Until now!

X Japan are back, bringing with them their first new studio album for two decades, and they’ll be celebrating the news by throwing a one-off show at Wembley Area in London in March 2016!

The currently untitled album is scheduled for a worldwide release on 11 March 2016, the fifth anniversary of The Great East Japan Earthquake, and will be followed by the special performance at SSE Arena, Wembley the following day. The group’s latest documentary will also go on sale on the same day (a day fans have already dubbed #XDAY), and will be premiered at the arena too. The Stephen Kijak-directed documentary includes footage from the band’s 2014 Madison Square Garden Concert, as well as the start of their current project.
YOSHIKI made the announcement at JAPAN EXPO in Paris recently, and then popped over to The O2 in London for a special unplugged appearance with X Japan vocalist Toshi, where the pair were attacked by a giant, fluffy airborne alpaca. The stuffed toy is now a mini-celebrity in its own right amongst fans following the incident.
