Shonen Knife At The Japan Foundation

The happiest band in the world - Shonen Knife - are on tour in the UK, Ireland and Europe throughout October.

Before they wrap up the tour the girls will be stopping by The Japan Foundation to participate in their Meet The Artist! series on 29 October.

The band formed in Osaka in 1981 and currently comprises founding member Naoko Yamano on guitar alongside Ritsuko Taneda on bass and drummer Emi Morimoto.

Alex Hoban, foreign correspondent for Vice Magazine, NME and The Guardian, will be talking to the girls to explore their position in the music industry as both an all-girl and a Japanese band, and consider how they came to be one of the most iconic Japanese bands of the 90s.

The event is free to attend but booking is essential. To book a place email your name and the name of the event - Meet The Artist Shonen Knife - to event@jpf.org.uk

Date: 29 October 2012, 6.30pm
