Japan Underground vs. NEO Magazine: The Afterparty

The London MCM Expo is almost here and when you've finished shopping and sampling the myriad delights of the Expo, why not head out for a night on the tiles at Japan Underground vs NEO Magazine: The Afterparty?

Where? Bloomsbury Bowling, Bedford Way, London WC1H 9EU

When? Saturday 27 October 2012, 8PM until 3AM

The night will be filled with the sounds of the very finest J-rock, J-pop and K-pop.

There will be live performances by Budo Grape and Ken Kobayashi.

Plus there will be karaoke throughout the night from On Board Karaoke, as well as Japanese sweets on sale from Sushi Noms. Plus the usual bowling, arcade machines, pool, ping pong.

Headliners for the night Budo Grape are a catchy, high-energy avant-garde pop band from Nagoya, Japan.

The band is fronted by model and radio personality Quminco on vocals and
Nagoya music legend Nagai (formerly of The Shockers), who is Budo Grape's chief songwriter and guitarist.

Formed in 2001, Budo Grape released their first full album KOIBITO WA
in 2005.

New keyboardist Naho joined the band in 2012, bringing with her an edgy synth
sound that has given the band's sound a boost and they released their sixth album, KARE NO NAMAE WO OMOIDASENAI last year.

The band, whose members all have Grape as their last name, claim to come from "Neo-Nagoya." They continue to tour Japan with their crazy live show and catchy songs, and in addition to their show at The Afterparty they will performing a handful of dates around the UK:

26 October: Brighton, Cable Club @ The Prince Albert (with White Star Liners, Runnings Dogs and Altantic & Lion)

27 October: London, Japan Underground @ Bloomsbury Lanes (with Ken Kobayashi, followed by Japanese themed Halloween party)

28 October: Manchester, Doki Doki @ Gullivers (with SK8BIT and Shirokuma)
