NEO Awards 2016 Best Anime Tokyo Ghoul √A (Anime Limited)
Tokyo Ghoul √A follows on from the action in the first series, with protagonist Ken Kaneki navigating an increasingly hostile world. Transformed into a half human, half ghoul monster. Kaneki has had no choice but to succumb to his dark urges in order to survive. The second season sees the stakes raised even higher in a story original to the anime series, as conflicts between the human-based CCG agency and the terrorist ghoul organisation Aogiri Tree reach fever pitch. Kaneki makes a shocking decision – but was it the right one, what is the true end goal of these institutions?
“The NEO awards every year are very important to us at Anime Limited as it’s a chance for the fans to make their voice heard when it comes to anime in the UK, and we’re so happy that Tokyo Ghoul √A has been voted as best anime of the year!” said Andrew Partridge of Anime Limited. “This following the first season of Tokyo Ghoul being voted as readers favourite anime of the year in 2015. It goes to show how powerful a series it really is and one we’re very proud is part of our catalogue.”
