Chinese Visual Festival In London

2012 is not just the year of the London Olympics - it's also the Year of the Dragon and of the 2nd Chinese Visual Festival, which runs until 6th July across four central London venues with the theme Run, China, Run tying in with the Olympics Games.

The Chinese Visual Festival aims to showcase independent Chinese films and contemporary art in the UK. The festival has two sections, Film Screenings and the Art Exhibition.

Every year there will be one unifying theme, and the festival intends to show Chinese reality to overseas audiences from the refreshing perspective of conversations between moving images and art.

Hosting the 2008 Beijing Olympics has affected Chinese society profoundly and this year's festival looks at the aftershock of the 2008 Beijing Olympics through a variety of Chinese films, art and music.

The festival of film, art and music will feature 17 independent documentary films from China, director Q&A sessions, an art exhibition and artist talk by Wu Xiaohai, Chinese pipa playing from musician Wang Ting and performances in Mandarin of the musical Sweet Charity by Boulevard Productions.

Tickets: £6 per session
Admission is free for the Art Exhibition and Artist Talk
