New Samsi Manchester

Anyone ever been?

Ive been twice and its a very nice atmosphere. I've tried a fair few things as both times were set menus so had a dib and dab of everything.

I love their karage chicken (which i call the posh man's KFC lol)

Their chilli and garlic ribs are to die for as well, the meat they use could be a bit better quality though.

If anyone from the north fancies a try at japanese cuisine then id recommend this restaurant.

They also have a small store in the basement that sells genuine imported goods from japan. They have a large selection of chopsticks and cook wear, and our favourites such as ramune, and a wall of pocky!

i cant remember the name of the street, but it is more or less next to that gym in the basement. Just google new samsi manchester and youll get directions etc.

I know that there is a Samsi in Spinningfields opposite Kro Bar. I saw it on the way to a gig, but my dear friends were having none of it and we went to Carluccios instead. Is that the one you're talking about?

Oo, do they cater for veggies, would you know?

its very very close to one of the manchester university campuses so im not too sure. like i said just go on their interwebs site and youll soon find the location.

And yes they do a variety of vegetarian food so you will not go hungry

Its on whitworth street if you come out of oxford road trainstation you can see it from the cross roads (its the building with the red signs around it bout 1/2mile down the road)

I do like Samsi and go there every now and again but the food quality seems to have dropped over the past few months (though the price is amazing so we still go whenever we head into Manchester). They have a shop downstairs which sells groceries as well, though main complaint is that lots of the things they sell are out of date! (luckily the Ramune, Pocari Sweat and Calpico is usually in date ^_^, except their concentrated versions)

Staff are plesant and last year on valentines day they gave all the diners little valentine presents which we thought was a nice touch.

I did a photoshoot there with some friends and my fiancee last year as they were gonna be in the MEN news and they paid us with free food which was fun.

Random fact... its owned by a lady (can't remember her name but she has blonde hair and very friendly) who has appeared on Dragons Den twice, she was unsuccesful both times but they did offer to buy Samsi off her which she turned down.
