Default Reality TV...have they really gone overboard on this type of show now?

I was watching television the other night and I just thought, crikey how many reality tv shows have been on over the past few months. I tried to count up as many as I could and then tried to work out which ones were any good...

I mean first up you have Britains Got Talent, then the X-Factor starts to air after it and at the same time Strictly Come Dancing tries to out do X-Factor. Then you have I'm a Celebrity...Get Me out of here and soon after Celebrity Big Brother pops up. Then Dancing on Ice appears and a new one for the line up appears...Popstar to Opera Star! And it's mostly all celebs who need to push their careers further or something that go on these things (apart from X-factor and Britain's Got Talent of course)!

It just seems to me that the whole thing is being overdone now and personally I'm getting bored of the same things being done every year over and over.

Am I the only one sick of reality TV?

I know some people love these shows...if you do, fair enough...but is there anybody out there that isn'y glued to reality TV shows? Please?

I loathe them utterly.

Especially the 'celebrity' ones... self-serving tosh.

As for the 'talent' ones... if they did a proper 'battle of the bands' type of thing featuring real musicians, playing real instruments and singing original songs then I might be interested.

I can get Krap Karaoke down my local twice a week, so why should I watch Cowell's version on TV?? Are people that desperate to appear on TV/become a 'celeb' that they'll do literally anything to achieve that aim... these shows can only become more and more extreme.

It baffles me why the Great British Public is so enamoured of these shows (and the column inches they generate instead of real news)

That said... I do have an idea for a celebrity show though... Celebrity Tw4ts on Stilts on Ice. With Polar bears.

Same just cheap unimagnative programing. They even have UK's best butcher TV program. What kind of nutter would watch that...come on Uk'd best butcher. The whole thing was old after the first series of big brother for me.

yeah they are a joke. I can understand series 1 of Big Brother being an interesting social experiment. but they are now merely platforms for talentless f*****s to get famous off of. they have gotta do the rage thing again.

A thread to moan about reality television? As long as the Ultimate Fighter isn't moaned about I'm in.

I like the sound of that! Lol! You could vote for who the polar bears could maul next!

There is so many more better things to put on TV than watching...hmm I don't know, Katie Price or whatever she calls herself these days, crawling through bugs or eating them or whatever she did (I have friends that avidly watch these sorts of programmes and have to tell me what has happened each time they see me- I pretend I'm listening until they stop).

There has got to be more to TV than down and out celebs pitching themselves live on reality tv shows, hasn't there?! My faith in TV has dropped to an all time low in the last few years since the "reality revolution".

I wonder what the most hated show is?

Love them all. Don't feel a need to defend my views either. The end.

That explains who the single vote in favour of the insipid wastes of airtime came from!
